Hi everyone,
From 2002 Herman Potgieter operated the extremely useful Pretorius website, however a few years ago this was unfortunately closed down The good news is that a brand new Pretorius website is now up and running.

Over the past few weeks a huge amount of effort went into the creation of this site, and I wish to acknowledge the work of those who helped in getting this off the ground .

The aim of the website is to make information about the Pretorius family freely available. The following sections are available online already:
– family tree, with close on 24000 individuals, with summary list of names and surnames;
– Pretorius-related articles (so far, articles on the progenitor, the children of Wessel Shout/Pretorius and Josyntgen Claesdochter van Egmond, a visit to Ouddorp, the progenitor’s time on Mauritius, and more);
– a product section with Pretorius-related items such as books and cd’s;
– an archive of Pretorius-related graves (currently with ± 1400 photos)

There will also be a photo-gallery where family photos will be displayed – this will be up soon.

Please visit the site, look for your family or just browse! The URL is:
